If you prefer watching things on the big screen, don’t fear; The International Film festival has all things cinema covered. What’s more, it’s also a great opportunity to test your language skills by watching English films with other students from our English school in Edinburgh.
When you’re feeling a little bit musical, The Edge Festival and year-round popular locations, including the Edinburgh Corn Exchange, will keep you entertained. From big names to fresh new UK bands, the local music scene is buzzing with talent. Club night ‘Evol’ at Liquid Rooms will also feed your appetite for music, focusing on the indie and rock genres. Fans of cutting edge DJ’s will prefer ‘Trouble’, the electronic music night hosted in the underground passages of Edinburgh’s past, at the ‘Cabaret Voltaire’ nightclub.
If you’re looking for a quieter night out, take your Kaplan classmates to Dragonfly cocktail bar for a relaxing drink. You should also check out The Three Sisters pub, but with a welcoming courtyard big enough for over 1000 people, it’s not exactly going to be quiet in this friendly Edinburgh student hangout!
The last of the year’s festivities in Edinburgh, and the most explosive, are Scotland’s Hogmanay celebrations. Thousands and thousands of people attend the event’s street processions to welcome in the New Year with fireworks and live music.
