Over the past few months, we have been looking at different ways that social media can help you to learn English.
Listening is a key element to learning English and podcasts can help you to improve your these skills and perfect your speaking and conversation levels.
Here is our guide on how to use podcasts to learn English.
The BBC 6 Minute English
The BBC 6 Minute English podcast is conversational and focuses on every day topics. The more recent topics have included The Royal Baby, Suspended Coffees and Tweet of the Day. Each program is 6 minutes long and contains examples and explanations to help you improve your knowledge of the English language.
This podcast would be useful for our students studying General English or Vacation English, who want to talk about current topics with the locals.
British Council Professional Podcasts
The British Council has lots of different podcasts for learners of all levels. The Professional Podcasts series is useful for professionals learning English. They include podcasts about motivation in the workplace and how to write a CV. This podcast would be very useful for students who are studying Business English or taking Work and Study programs.
Podcasts in English
Podcasts in English has different podcasts for different levels of English speakers, so it would be perfect for a beginner, studying Intensive English to get some practice in before starting a course. You can also get free sample work sheets and download videos to help your pronunciation.
