Why Kaplan English students can't get enough of Toronto nightlife
Ask what Canada is known for and you’ll almost always find ‘diversity’ near the top of the list. Never is this more true than in Toronto’s huge range of night-time entertainment options.
The sparkling highlight of Toronto nightlife is the Guvernment club complex, holding an enormous 10,000 people in its combination of bars and clubs. The main room features big name dance DJ’s, smoke machines and laser shows, but the dress code is still fairly casual; forget the heels, you’ll be dancing all night! If you do want to dress up a bit, head to glamorous English themed celebrity hotspot ‘This is London’, or see the stars on stage in one of the Royal Alexandra Theatre’s thrilling musicals.

For drinks, choose between awe-inspiring Toronto views and upmarket cocktails at Panorama and relaxed beers at Scruffy Murphy’s Irish Pub, or anything in between.
Food and music fans are also spoilt for choice. Start at Boiler House, a converted whiskey distillery now serving hot plates of adventurous fine cuisine, including Ostrich. You can also enjoy live jazz bands while you sit round one of the patio tables of this easygoing restaurant with your friends from Kaplan’s Toronto English School.
Jazz not your idea of musical heaven? Then you might prefer Red Rooster’s hearty American dishes, classic cocktails and live rock and indie music. This thriving Canadian venue also offers weekly ‘Rockstar live karaoke’, where you get the unique chance to sing with a live backing band. If your singing skills aren’t the best and you’d prefer to laugh at something than be laughed at, try the hilarious Yuk Yuk’s comedy club.
With such a welcoming nightlife atmosphere, despite the super-clubs and celebrity hangouts, you’re sure to have a great night out in Toronto, whoever you are and whatever you’re into.
