The language of the game

Football, also known as soccer, is one of the most popular sports in the world. It is a global sport with several international tournaments where players from different nationalities have to play as a team, and the communication between them can be a vital ingredient to the victory. 

But what language do they speak on the pitch? How about the referees, what language do they use to speak to the players?

This answer might vary from situation to situation, but in most of the time, English is the language of the game. This is one of the reasons Pirlo (World Champion in 2006) and David Villa (World Champion in 2010) both studied English at Kaplan in the past!
