Adventure and English in Dublin: Togo
Today we caught up with Togo, a Japanese student who is studying at our English school in Dublin. He captured his English language journey in a series of amazing photos, keeping a journal of all the places that he travelled to while studying with us in picturesque and historic Ireland. Exploring the natural landscape of Dublin
This photo was taken during my trip to the Cliffs of Moher, which was my very first time seeing the Atlantic Ocean. I went on this trip during my first weekend in Dublin with some of my classmates, and had an amazing time. The landscape was super beautiful – I’ll never forget that impression.
The next day we visited Carrick a Reed, which is in Northern Ireland. We walked along the famous Carrick a-Rede rope bridge, which is over 350 years old! I was tired from all the walking, but this was the busiest and most fantastic weekend ever.
Heading up north to Edinburgh
This photo was taken in Edinburgh, which I visited 5 days before my departure from Kaplan. The weather wasn't amazing, but many amazing unexpected things happened, such as being able to see this rainbow.

During my trip I visited Arthur's Seat, where you can see amazing views of the city, Edinburgh castle, and beautiful landscapes. I walked 13km this day, which included hiking the mountain paths to the top of Arthur’s Seat.
Discovering ancient architecture in Dublin
This photo was taken at St Patrick’s Cathedral in Ireland. I spent the day exploring Dublin by myself, and stopped at this beautiful Cathedral, as well as Christ Church and Dublin Castle. This is the first time I had visited Europe, so I was surprised by all the differences there were between Japanese and European cultures. There is so much amazing art and architecture that I have never seen in Japan.
This photo was taken during a visit to Kilmainham Gaol, which is a former prison in Dublin. The prison is now used as a museum, and displays objects from the prisoners who were imprisoned here during the Irish Civil War. I recommend anyone to visit historical places like this, as it’s important to understand the history and the heritage of Ireland.
